D.C. Region Low-Income Student Support Program Grants

GRANT FOCUS: Education, Low-Income Students, Academic Achievement, K-12
Amount: $10,000 – $35,000
Deadline: Oct. 1, 2019

“[The program] was established in 2012 to identify and strengthen ties with youth-serving nonprofit organizations in the Northern Virginia; metropolitan Washington, DC; and Maryland areas that are helping students with financial need reach their full potential through education…

In keeping with the Foundation’s mission of advancing the education of exceptionally promising students with financial need, the Good Neighbor Grant can support the establishment of new programs or the enhancement of existing initiatives that support high potential students with financial need. We are most interested in programs that strive to exceed standards rather than meet them, and aim to promote engagement, enrichment, creativity, talent development, and intellectual curiosity.

Examples of eligible programs include school-year or summer academic enrichment opportunities, college access programs, arts education, service learning, and STEM programs, and innovative programs that bridge education and technology. Funds may also be used for the development of education-related products that will directly benefit students such as handbooks, training guides, and other written and digital media.”
