Teachers Take After-School Tutoring Closer to Kids’ Homes

Some elementary school teachers in Ohio are riding buses home with their students and tutoring them in their own neighborhoods, because so many students lack transportation if they stay after school. Many academically struggling youths are more comfortable and receptive in familiar surroundings, such as donated space in their apartment complexes and local recreational facilities.
