Another search database for service work opportunities is available here – this one coming by order of President Barack Obama. The site, which lets users search for volunteer work by ZIP code and interest area, was launched after Obama signed legislation to expand funding for service work organizations. The site, operated by the Corporation for National and Community Service, invites users who want to recruit volunteers to list their opportunities through one of serve.gov’s 20 partner organizations, including AmeriCorps and VolunteerMatch. They can also enroll for free memberships, to post their own projects or events.
