A jury last month convicted former Boston-area priest John Geoghan of molesting a 10-year-old boy. More than 130 people have accused Geoghan, defrocked in 1998, of sexual abuse, and he still faces two other criminal cases. The archdiocese, whose leaders have been accused of allowing Geoghan to continue serving after knowing about a pattern of accusations, has settled related civil claims totaling more than $10 million.
