Deadline: Oct. 27, 2025
“This NOFO will support the development, implementation and improvement of emergency planning activities for state, Tribal, county, and local juvenile justice residential facilities. Funding will help ensure that facilities are prepared to prioritize the safety and well-being of youth and staff, keep families informed, continue operations, and reduce risk to the facility during and after an emergency. The goal of the program is to help facilities improve their ability to respond to and recover from these incidents. For the purposes of this program, emergency is defined as an incident—natural, technological, or nonnatural—that requires a response to protect life, property, or the environment. Funds may be used to restore essential services and operations. In general, funds may be used to cover costs that:
- Ensure safety and well-being for youth and staff during emergencies.
- Maintain efficient continuation of facility operations to prevent disruptions and reduce risk to the facility.”
