“The Cedar Tree Foundation is excited to announce “Rooted in Justice” a new funding program designed to help amplify youth voices and actions in the environmental, conservation and food movements by supporting community-based organizations and groups that specifically manage youth-led urban greening programs.  Rooted in Justice will support organizations, groups, collectives, and programs that work with young people between the ages of 12 to 20 in youth-led programming for communities or cultures which have historically and/or presently experienced: (1) A lack of access to land or nature; (2) Agricultural oppression and/or neglect; (3) Food apartheid; and (4) Or other forms of injustice based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics and disability.”

Eligibility:
“This opportunity is available to community-based organizations or groups with a 501(c)3 status or secured fiscal agent, located in Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia. Organizations of any size or stage of development can apply but preference may be given to organizations or programs with a budget of $500,000 or smaller and/or that are majority-led by people who identify as BIPOC or of the global majority.”
