CA Youth Development Initiative Grants

Subject: Youth Development, Youth Services, Community
Deadline: Apr. 30, 2019 (must register online by Apr. 12)

“The California Community Foundation is seeking applications for grants supporting work that advance our vision and goals to provide youth and their families with supportive, asset-based, high-quality resources and opportunities toward successful pathways to adulthood. Our goal is to build a system that replaces the traditional structures of arrest and incarceration with one centered on youth development, rehabilitation, and opportunity. Funds and support structures associated with this opportunity are meant to accelerate the growth of community-based services, connect youth serving organizations to one another through cohort-based learning and provide access to capacity-building assistance focused on continuous organizational and programmatic improvement.”

  • Nonprofit agencies with evidence of tax-exempt status under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not classified as a private foundation
  • Located within and primarily serving residents of Los Angeles County, except for regional, statewide or national public policy efforts that may benefit a substantial portion of the local population
  • Operated and organized so that they do not discriminate in the hiring of staff or in providing services on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin or disability.”
