“This program supports prevention and early intervention strategies for girls who are involved in the juvenile justice system. The goal of this program is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society.
Objectives:
- Increase protective factors to prevent further delinquent behavior by girls involved in funded programs.
- Improve juvenile justice system responses for girls in contact with the system.
Deliverables:
- Develop and implement direct service programs for girls involved in the juvenile justice system to reduce reoffending.
- Enhance or expand existing prevention and early intervention programs to meet the specific needs of girls involved in the juvenile justice system.
- Develop, expand, or enhance targeted curricula for staff (i.e., probation, detention center staff, law enforcement, judges) to ensure they have the skills necessary to implement these programs for girls in the juvenile justice system.”

Eligibility: Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, private institutions of higher education, public and state controlled institutions of higher education, city or township governments, county governments, Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized), Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments), state governments, other.
