This Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. venture stresses online safety in its pitch for girls to empower themselves through the Internet. Site administrators are aware that many young girls are already well-versed on Internet navigation, but hope to provide insight on safety issues – such as privacy, sexual predators and cyber-bullying – that may be less familiar to young Web users. Users can create their own accounts and post comments or read advice from online safety experts and from some Girl Scouts themselves, serving as site editors.
