Juvenile Placement Manual, 2008-09 Edition

Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice
122 pages. $20.

In 2002, the Sentencing Service Program of California’s Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice published its first Juvenile Placement Manual. It became a helpful tool for defense counselors, prosecutors and probation officers needing juvenile placements. With updated listings and new resources, the second edition covers more than 200 alternative options for juvenile offenders in Northern and Southern California as well as some out-of-state locations. Each listing describes services, rate classification level, gender, number of beds and contact information. An index indicates placements specializing in the treatment of juvenile sex offenders. This manual was not examined for review. (415) 621-5661, ext. 309. http://www.cjcj.org/sentencingserviceprogram.
