After-School Training Funded

The Atlantic Philanthropies has announced that it will provide $2.3 million to Foundations Inc. for its Center for Afterschool Education.

The Moorestown, N.J.-based center, with a staff of 16 led by Executive Director Claudia Weisburd, provides technical assistance and professional development to after-school programs around the country. Atlantic’s grant, which will be paid out over two years, is to be used to improve the educational quality of out-of-school-time programs by training 5,000 after-school program staffers.
