Forgoing the fanfare most organizations attempt to muster around a name change, America’s Promise – The Alliance for Youth has quietly condensed its name to America’s Promise Alliance.
Although the old moniker included the word “alliance,” the organization’s name was frequently shortened to America’s Promise in media coverage and elsewhere. The new name “better reflects the vision and strategy” of the organization, says board member Peter Benson. “We are less about the organization called America’s Promise, and more about the alliance of partners we created.”
American’s Promise did not return several calls for comment.
