Responding to state and federal attendance mandates, including those of the No Child Left Behind Act, Bryan Adams High School in Dallas tracks nine of its most chronically truant students with a Global Positioning System device worn on the youths’ belts. The six-week pilot program is funded by a $26,000 grant from Bruce Leadbetter, an equity investor. Most of the money pays the salary of a full-time case manager.
