Issues of manliness, self-reliance and respect are among those explored in this report, which examines the experiences of “men of color” at community colleges. The report deals with the men’s views on how they believe they are viewed by faculty and staff and to what extent, if any, that affects their educational ambitions.
The report also deals with the benefits of having caring teachers who do whatever it takes to make sure students understand the subject being taught.
