“The purpose of the [program] is to develop, establish and operate programs designed to reform State systems and improve the processes by which States respond to cases of child abuse and neglect. This will enable States to more effectively address both the child victim and the offender and to limit additional trauma to the child victim. Children’s Justice Act (CJA) funds are to be primarily focused on the front-end, intake, assessment, investigative, and prosecutorial phases of child welfare.
Texas CJA is now accepting applications for programs that will fill an identified gap and contribute to the knowledge base in one or more of its current CJA priority areas:
- Strengthen Capacity and Better Leverage Existing Resources
- Emergency Preparedness: Keeping Children Safe During and After A Natural Disaster
- Improving the Response to Internet Crimes Against Children & Use of Digital Evidence.”
