An Indiana judge has blocked a local television station from airing a parent’s frustrated criticisms of the state’s Department of Child Services (DCS) and a family advocacy group, Honk for Kids. The parent – Mark McGaha, a 37-year-old disabled veteran and single father of four – said the court and DCS are targeting him because he challenged workers who have treated him and his family unfairly. The court order was sought by the guardian ad litem who represents McGaha’s children in a Child in Need of Services case in Fountain County. WXIN News Director Gavin Maliska said his station did not challenge the ruling because McGaha’s comments were not essential to the aired segment.
