Police in Tennessee say a teenager’s death at a center for mentally and developmentally disabled youth was a homicide at the hands of youth workers who restrained him.
Omega Leach, 17, died in June at the Chad Youth Enhancement Center in Ashland after a scuffle that began when he allegedly tried to choke a staff member. Police say he was restrained face down and eventually stopped breathing.
The Montgomery County sheriff said last month that the case will be presented to a grand jury.
In 2005, a female teen died at the center after being restrained by staff.
