New Recovery Act “Green” Training Grants on the Street

A couple of the listings today are about a new set of Recovery Act competitive grants – totaling $500 million in all – to train individuals for careers in energy efficiency and renewable energy industries (see Life Skills). The so-called Pathways Out of Poverty initiative, for instance, seeks to fund projects that help high school dropouts and others gain skills for the green economy. Several webinars are scheduled in July to help grantseekers apply for the funds. Information on the webinars will be posted at the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) contractor website; all DOL grants are listed online.
