“The purpose of this program is to identify youth and young adults, not more than 25 years old, at clinical high risk for psychosis and provide evidence- based interventions to prevent the onset of psychosis or lessen the severity of psychotic disorder. Your organization is expected to:
- Train providers on implementing evidence-based screening, assessment, and stepped care interventions for youth and young adults at clinical high risk for psychosis.
- Conduct outreach and education to community partners.
- Use evidence-based screening and assessment to identify youth and young adults who may be at clinical high risk for psychosis.
- Provide evidence-based interventions (e.g., stepped care model) for youth and young adults who meet diagnostic criteria for clinical high risk for psychosis.
With this program, SAMHSA aims to improve symptomatic and behavioral functioning, enable youth and young adults to resume age-appropriate social, academic, and/or vocational activities, delay or prevent the onset of psychosis, and minimize the duration of untreated psychosis for those who develop psychosis.”

Eligibility: “(1) State governments. The District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply. (2) Governmental units within political subdivisions of a state (e.g., county, city, town). (3) Any Indian tribe or tribal organization (as defined in section 4(b) and section 4(c) of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act).”
