“This grant offers support for grassroots initiatives to tackle issues related to Youth Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (YANSAG). Our mission is to support a wide range of efforts around the world that help YANSAG unleash their potential to become agents of peace, recognizing that they are often overlooked, despite being a critical issue that must be addressed to break the cycle of violence. Requirements:

  • For Individuals: Those engaged in activities supporting YANSAG, including YANSAG themselves.
  • For Organizations: Organizations engaged in activities supporting YANSAG, with a priority for grassroots projects over larger organizations.
  • Applying for this grant requires prior registration with the GTY Partnership.

Examples of supported project include

  • Projects aimed at providing education or skills training for young former combatants.
  • Community-based reconciliation efforts aimed at reducing bias and creating reconciliation to help former combatants reintegrate into their communities.
  • Projects aimed at encouraging combatants to disengage from non-state armed groups and accepting them in a community.”

Eligibility:
“This grant accepts applications from anywhere in the world, and submissions are welcomed in languages other than English as well (French, Spanish and Arabic). If you’re not comfortable with these major languages, please feel free to reach out. We are happy to discuss options with you. Whether the projects are led by individuals or organizations, as long as they are related to YANSAG and contribute to conflict resolution and sustaining peace, they are eligible for consideration. If you believe your activities are relevant, we encourage you to apply.”
