“The Neighborhood Equitable Recovery Fund is a partnership between the City of Philadelphia Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) and Bread & Roses Community Fund to support community-based nonprofit organizations that serve communities of color and those with low incomes, which have been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The program includes a community-driven grantmaking process in which residents in the affected communities are responsible for: (1) evaluating applicants, (2) determining funding priorities, (3) and making funding decisions.
Organizations that are experiencing financial hardship, are at risk of closing, or have reduced services due to the pandemic are encouraged to apply. Grants of $15,000 will be made to organizations that work with vulnerable populations around issues including, but not limited to: (1) health education, (2) food distribution, (3) family support, (4) and community organizing to address barriers to support. Organizations may use funds to support payroll, rent, mortgage payments, utilities, or other operating expenses; and to provide and organize mutual aid projects.”

Eligibility: Philadelphia area organizations that have current 501(c)(3) IRS status or a fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) IRS status and be in good standing with the IRS.
