Chicago Students for Peace

+Editors’ note: Given recent conversations between President Trump and Mayor Rahm Emanuel about violence in Chicago, we thought it might be helpful to repost this video of these Chicago students talking about peace, not violence and murder.

They had formed peace teams at their charter schools to pass out origami peace cranes to their neighborhoods.

The youths were attending the World Peace Day rally in Daley Plaza in Chicago in September, 2016.

The community of Perspectives charter schools has lost 13 current and former students to gun violence in the past 18 months. Perspectives Peace Teams are planning a Peace Summit for March and their fourth annual Peace March on June 2.
