Youth Soccer Facilities Funding Grants

Deadline: Letters of intent: Sept. 30, 2016

7, 2016

“Urban areas often lack available space for children to play outside. In order to provide an opportunity for all children to play soccer, we have taken on the task of providing children across the nation with places to play. Our Safe Places to Play program provides grants to organizations to help them build or enhance a field space in their communities. To date, we have helped create over 1,100 safe places for children nationwide.

Safe Places to Play grants are available in four categories: Synthetic Turf, Lighting, Irrigation, and Sport Court. Multi-sport field projects are eligible for funding, but such fields must be used a majority of the time for soccer. Multi-field projects are also eligible. Projects that must go through a bidding process are eligible. All Safe Places to Play grants (except for Irrigation) can be awarded for either indoor or outdoor field projects. Safe Places to Play grantees have between 12-18 months from the date of the award announcement to use their funding.”
