“The California Community Foundation (CCF)’s early care and education (ECE) strategy seeks to increase access to high-quality ECE programs for children in underserved communities in L.A. County. Our goal is to support high quality, early childhood learning opportunities that increase school readiness.
Strategies and Outcomes:
- Support for convening and coordination to amplify the work of early learning advocates, providers and parent networks;
- ECE policy advocacy to build public support for early learning programs; and
- Parent education, engagement and advocacy efforts to develop and build the leadership skills of parents so they can become stronger advocates for their children and communities.
- Quality, professional development that provides teachers with the instructional strategies necessary to meet the learning needs of diverse student populations.”

Eligibility: Competitive applicants include: “(1) An early childhood education center that provides high-quality, research-based education to low-income children and emphasizes parent engagement by requiring parent participation on a weekly basis. (2) An organization that teaches parents of preschool and K-5 students how to become an integral part of their children’s education and academic achievement.” Applications from other types of organizations are welcome but priority will be given to those that fit the two definitions above.
