Youth Leadership Program with Japan and South Korea

Public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit proposals to provide a three- to four-week U.S.-based exchange in 2015 that explores the primary themes of civic rights and responsibilities, leadership development, and community engagement and the sub-theme of entrepreneurship and innovation. The group of approximately 18-24 exchange participants will be English-speaking teenage girls and female educators from Japan and South Korea; they will be joined by American students for some of the U.S.-based activities. The program will conclude with follow-on activities in the participants’ home communities in which they apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the exchange experience.

Eligibility: Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education), public and state controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education.
Amount: Up to $250,000.
