To help foster collaboration among professionals working with runaway and homeless youth, National Safe Place – a youth outreach program that designates participating businesses and other locations as safe places to go in an emergency – launched the Safety Net for Youth blog in January. Contributors are to include youth workers, youth shelter executives, Safe Place employees and the staff of the National Runaway Switchboard. The blog’s features include helpful checklists (such as “25 Tips to Being an Effective Youth Advocate”), news stories about issues affecting youth services, and links to resources and organizations.
