Juvenile and Family Court Journal
The article looks at the early success indicators of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Reclaiming Futures initiative to improve substance abuse treatment for youth in the juvenile justice system. The 10-community project focuses on improved screening and assessment, leadership development, quality of services, and collaboration among organizations and with the larger community. As the five-year trial phase of the project ends, preliminary analysis shows significant improvements in treatment systems through such indicators as family involvement, treatment effectiveness and participation in pro-social activities.
