Health programming for youth has become increasingly important in Out-of-School Time (OST) programs. After school, before school and summer programs can be a venue to tackle a range of critical health issues affecting youth, such as childhood obesity and diabetes, and to support pro-social behavior and healthy relationships among youth. This topic of the OST Hub provides a wide range of free resources to OST program designers, practitioners, and policy makers. Included here is information about the physical, nutritional, sexual, social and emotional health of young people, focusing specifically on materials and tools that capitalize on the opportunities offered during out-of-school time.
This topic is divided into two categories:
Each category has several sections (see menu on right) with free resources to download which provide both researchers and practitioners a deeper understanding about a range of OST health-focused topics and program approaches.
