Kansas City region economic mobility nonprofit support grants

OUR GRANT OPPORTUNITIES: Youth Today’s grant listings are carefully curated for our subscribers working in youth-related industries. Subscribers will find local, regional, state and national grant opportunities.

THIS GRANT’S FOCUS: Economic Mobility, Job/Career Training, Workforce Development, College Access, Kansas City
Deadline:
Apr. 4, 2025

“Capacity Building grants are designed to strengthen the organizational capacity of 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organizations by fostering sound leadership, strong boards, professional development for staff, technology, evaluation, strategic planning, communications, and sustainability. Rather than funding a charity’s specific program or singular service, Capacity Building grants look for opportunities to support an organization’s focus on internal effectiveness and long-term stability. These one-time, short-term grants will be awarded to charities that demonstrate a specific capacity gap and who are aligned with our strategic priorities and focus areas.

Strategic Priorities: Together with our community, we believe we can shift the landscape in three strategies — college access and completion, workforce and career development, and entrepreneurship — prioritized because of their anticipated power to advance economic mobility.

Focus Areas: In alignment with these priorities, we are seeking projects at the intersection of innovation and impact through the focus areas of essential competencies and skills, education and employer connection, participation and belonging, and equitable access.”

Funder: Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation
Eligibility:
“Typically only available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit charities.”
