“The UCB Community Health Fund (the Fund) was launched in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund aims to address health disparities amongst vulnerable populations. Specifically, the focus is on contributing to understand and reduce the medium and long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable populations’ physical, mental, and social well-being.

In 2021, the Call for Projects will focus on mental health issues of young people (ages 15 to 24) in the wake of COVID-19 in the communities where UCB is active (see list of countries/regions). It is endowed with approx. €2,000,000 and will support organizations that make a positive difference in the lives of young people. This Call for Projects welcomes applications of organizations that work to address the consequences of COVID-19 on the mental health and social well-being of young people (15-24 year) in the regions where UCB is active.

Specifically, we invite applications in the following areas of impact:

  • Projects that promote, detect, protect and care for young people’s mental health, for example:
    • Prevention and promotion, peer support, community action, substance abuse prevention.
  • Projects that ensure availability of mental health and psychosocial support, for example:
    • Accessibility and destigmatizing mental health care, home care and outreach.
  • Projects that work towards building and implementing efficient mental health services for
    young people, for example:
