Title: Director, Youth Services
Salary Range: $110,237 annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
Department: Youth Services
Location: 301 South Olive Avenue, WPB
Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday, evenings and weekends as required
Other: Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Position Description:
Directs and coordinates all programs and services within the newly established Youth Services Department. This department will offer programs and initiatives for the healthy growth, development, education and transition of children and youth to young adulthood and the workforce. The Director of this Department will interpret laws, rules, regulations and policies governing the administration of supportive services programs for children and youth and the application of professional managerial skills for a wide variety of operational responsibilities including planning, training, budgeting, personnel management and grants administration.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of children’s issues and community needs, thorough knowledge and understanding of the key factors impacting the goal of having children graduate high school and successfully enter adulthood, considerable knowledge of current literature, trends and developments in the areas of child/youth development, a thorough knowledge of administrative/management procedures related to supervising governmental programs and contracted service delivery as well as considerable knowledge of grant application procedures and management control of grant-funding.
Additionally, this candidate will possess the ability to develop long-range plans and make decisions on matters of operating policy and administrative issues as well as analyze complex human service problems and to take appropriate courses of action.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences, Education, Business/Public Administration, Criminal Justice or related; minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working with children, youth and family programs in a government or non-profit setting, which includes five (5) years of experience as a Program Director or Administrator.
