Nearly four in 10 young people between ages 20 and 25 who attend religious services at least once a week report that they vote regularly – double the number of voters among those who never attend services or attend only a few times a year. Those who attend religious services regularly were also more likely to have volunteered in the past year than those who attended infrequently or not at all.
CIRCLE researchers also found that young people who attend religious services regularly are more likely than others to belong to groups involved in politics, display a campaign button or sign, and donate money to candidates or a political party.
