Youth w/ Disabilities Employment Preparation Center Program Grant

GRANT FOCUS: Youth w/ Disabilities, Youth Employment, Job/Career Training
Amount: Up to $4,000,000
Deadline:
July 23, 2019

“[The funder announces the availability of grant funds] for one cooperative agreement to manage and operate a youth and young adult focused policy development and technical assistance center. A critical focus of the Center will be supporting the development, implementation, and integration of evidence-based effective practices and policies for improving transition outcomes for youth and young adults with disabilities. The Center will use the Guideposts for Success as a transition framework and recognize that youth, families, educators, workforce professionals, and other stakeholders must work together to increase employment expectations for youth with disabilities. The Center will build capacity within and across both general and disability-specific youth service delivery systems to improve employment and post-secondary education outcomes for youth with disabilities.

The purpose of the Center is to increase the capacity of national, state, and local workforce systems to support improved transition and employment-related outcomes for youth and young adults with disabilities through the identification and dissemination of evidence-based policies and practices.

The awardee will accomplish this by: 1) engaging with general and disability-specific youth service delivery systems to identify their most pressing needs related to the transition of youth and young adults with disabilities; 2) conducting research and policy analysis to identify viable practices and policy solutions to address the barriers identified; and 3) collaborating with national, state, and local entities to develop and disseminate concise and user-friendly resources tailored to address their needs.

This FOA solicits innovative applications to improve the capacity within and across both general and disability-specific youth service delivery systems to improve employment and post-secondary education outcomes for youth and young adults with disabilities.”
