Trends in Television Food Advertising to Young People: 2014 Update

The University of Connecticut's Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity updates their periodical publication on the latest trends and data in youth-target food advertisements on television. The report finds that children are now seeing more food advertisements than in the past and the majority of these ads are for unhealthy foods while those for fruits and vegetables constitute less than 1% of the total ads seen. The report also finds that many ads are targeted specifically at low-income children of color.
