Welcome to Youth Today Online — the Web site of the newspaper on youth work.
Youth Today, a monthly print publication with 24/7/365 online access, is the only independent, nationally distributed newspaper that is read by thousands of professionals in the youth service field.
Some of the issues covered include youth development; juvenile justice; gang and violence prevention; adolescent health; teen pregnancy and parenting; after-school programs and mentoring; best practices; and much more.
Youth Today is the only subscription-based national newspaper whose mission is quality, independent journalism devoted entirely to policy issues and programs affecting children and youth, especially disadvantaged youth.
Youth Today is a national trade periodical for professional youth workers and administrators of youth-serving agencies, and researchers and public policy staff who work on youth issues. We cover the business of starting, operating and evaluating programs in areas such as juvenile justice, foster care, mentoring, substance abuse, sexual behavior, after school, youth employment and overall youth development. Youth Today is the only subscription-based national newspaper devoted entirely to policy issues and programs affecting children and youth, especially disadvantaged youth.
Youth Today is published by the American Youth Work Center (AYWC), a nonprofit founded by Publisher Bill Treanor in 1984 and based in Washington, D.C. AYWC runs two programs: Youth Today (since 1992) and the International Practical Training Program (since 1985), which places foreign human service workers in U.S. agencies for an 18-month period.
