Welcome to Youth Today's comments page — an online community to share ideas about youth work, exchange views about our recent articles or let us know about burning topics in the field that you feel warrant a more in-depth look by our reporters. We plan to incorporate more interactive features into Youth Today Online, such as blogs, in the future. And we want your ideas. Please suggest features you'd like to see and we promise to consider them.

07/10/08 Frank Ryan:
Your story about changes in the California Parole system is datelined 8/1/08. That's getting ahead of yourself by about a week.

06/09/08 Russ Shaw:
I see the myth of 'prevention' has permeated another venue. Life and living is a dynamic process and we can make things happen but have little success in 'preventing' things from happening. Look at what has happened with the "war on poverty" and the "war on drugs", both of these ideas assume a flat eath and a linear process of cause and effect. Now, if we would empower our children to be responsable for their lives and to design, organize and operate in a way to have the life they choose, that would be truly transformational. A transformation occurs in a moment, as when I gave up my opinion of my self as "an ignorant, poor farm boy" and took the direction of my spiritual leader, Major Joseph S. Grimm and applied for Officer Candidate School in 1957. When Ike made me a lieutenant in the USAF, I was no longer at the effect of the great depression and my histoy. OCS did not prevent us from becoming bums but empowered us to be leadrs and to prevail in ending the domination of would-be dictators who like to control peopl. Russ Shaw, MA, Lt. Col., USAF(Ret) Aurora, Colorado 303-440-7877

05/16/08 Ray Bemis:
While browsing through Youth Today, October 2007, I was appalled to see in "A Resource Directory for Youth Workers" a 1-(800) listing for "Homosexuals Anonymous." I have enjoyed our office subscription of Youth Today for more than ten years and worked with youth for more than 25. I have lived my entire career as a healthy, happy, open, gay man. I see no benefit to youth or youth workers listing this poorly veiled, pathologizing, claptrap as a "resource" for youth. And, under crisis hotlines no less when youth in crisis may be most vulnerable to this self-hatred inducing hate mongering. "Homosexuals Anonymous" is nothing less than a cult fronting as "Christian charity." Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, transgender and quesitioning youth deserve better from "Youth Today."

03/06/08 Shelly Wimpfheimer:
I would be happy to speak with Youth Today about the leadership crisis in nonprofits. I have been involved in working on this/talking about this with colleagues for the past 5 years. Shelly Wimpfheimer

03/06/08 Off the Wall:
I saw only one advertisement in the website. Are you hiding them? The paper usually has lots of ads. Why not the website?

03/06/08 2r2n33ce:
This is my first visit to your website. Not bad! You can get around easy and your archives go back to 2002. When will you construct your archives to go back all the way to 1992, when the newspaper was founded?

03/06/08 l3igl3ang:
Excellent website. This will be my first time visiting

03/06/08 idle:
Great work! It very impressive. Your web site is helpful. All the best!

03/05/08 The Injustice Must End (TIME):
Please learn about wrongfully convicted 15-year-old Latino honor student named Efren Paredes, Jr. and how you can help end this injustice. Efren was sentenced to three life sentences in Berrien County, Michigan. It is a veritable death sentence in this state. He has been imprisoned now 19 years. Visit our web site at www.4Efren.com and sign our online petition at www.petitionspot.com/petitions/4Efren. You can also visit our blog at http://4Efren.blogspot.com and our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/4Efren. You are also encouraged to support the call for an end to the imposition of life without parole sentences on children in the USA by signing our online petition. A link appears below: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/jlwop

02/19/08 Erika:
