Schools Feed Dinner to Low-Income Youths

While schools have long provided free and reduced-priced breakfast and lunch to low-income youths, public schools in Washington, D.C., have gone much further: providing dinner to 10,000 students. This story in The Washington Post says the move is aimed at “hedging against childhood hunger, reducing alarming rates of obesity and drawing more students to after-school programs.”
