Tool Kit for Creating Your Own Truancy Reduction Program

This online toolkit covers such topics as the extent of truancy, its causes and its connections to dropping out of school and to delinquency. The toolkit outlines critical components of truancy prevention programs, such as family involvement, incentives and sanctions, and discusses lessons learned from evaluations of programs. The toolkit urges prevention programs to use and register with the Truancy Program Registry, a national database of truancy reduction contacts and programs.
